Terms and Conditions

1. Basis of Contract

1.1 These Terms and Conditions govern the services provided by Australian Outback Escapes Pty Ltd ACN 682 193 335 trading as Australian Outback Escapes (“Australian Outback Escapes”, “we”, “us”, “our”) to the customer (“you”, “your”). By making a booking, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1.2 A contract is formed once we receive your deposit, confirming your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

1.3 Tour-specific information, including itineraries, inclusions and requirements, will be provided prior to booking. In the event of any conflict, these Terms and Conditions will take precedence unless otherwise agreed in writing.


2. Booking and Payments

2.1 A 25% booking deposit is required to secure your place on the tour. Your booking is not confirmed until payment has been received. For bookings made within 30 days of departure, full payment is required at the time of booking.

2.2 The balance must be paid no later than 30 days before the departure date unless otherwise agreed.

2.3 Failure to pay the balance by the due date may result in cancellation of your booking, with cancellation fees applied as outlined in Section 4.

2.4 Quotes for custom escapes are valid for 14 days unless otherwise stated.


3. Pricing and Inclusions

3.1 Tour prices are set by Australian Outback Escapes in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable. For your convenience, prices displayed through our booking platform may be converted into your selected currency using the applicable exchange rate at the time of booking. Prices are subject to change until confirmed.

3.2 Tour prices cover accommodation, transportation, meals, and activities as specified in the itinerary. Items such as travel insurance, personal expenses, and optional activities are excluded unless expressly stated.

3.3 Solo travellers are welcome and will have their own accommodation, with a single supplement applying. Details of the applicable supplement will be provided at the time of booking.


4. Cancellation Policy

4.1 Cancellations must be made in writing. The following fees apply:

  • More than 30 days before departure: Full refund less a $100 administration fee to cover booking and administrative costs.
  • 15–30 days before departure: 50% of the total tour cost.
  • Less than 15 days before departure: No refund will be provided.

4.2 If Australian Outback Escapes must cancel a tour due to insufficient bookings, unforeseen circumstances, or force majeure, you will receive a full refund or the option to transfer your booking to another date.


5. Changes to Bookings

5.1 If you wish to make changes to your booking, requests must be submitted in writing. Amendments may incur additional charges.

5.2 If changes are not feasible, the original booking will stand, or cancellation fees may apply.


6. Passenger Responsibilities

6.1 It is your responsibility to ensure you are physically fit to participate in the tour. Please inform Australian Outback Escapes of any relevant medical conditions or dietary requirements at the time of booking.

6.2 Some tours operate in remote environments and may involve walking on uneven surfaces, exposure to weather conditions, and limited access to services. Guests should consider their personal fitness and ability to participate before booking.

6.3 You must follow all instructions provided by our guides and respect other passengers and the local environment.

6.4 Alcohol consumption on vehicles is not permitted unless specifically authorised by Australian Outback Escapes. Guests must drink responsibly and comply with guide instructions at all times.

6.5 Unruly, unsafe or disruptive behaviour may result in removal from the tour without a refund.


7. Travel Insurance and Personal Belongings

7.1 Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended. It should cover cancellations, medical expenses, personal belongings, and emergencies.

7.2 Guests are responsible for their personal belongings throughout the tour. Australian Outback Escapes accepts no responsibility for loss, theft or damage to personal items.


8. Liability

8.1 While Australian Outback Escapes takes all reasonable steps to ensure your safety, you acknowledge that travel in remote Australian environments involves inherent risks.

8.2 Australian Outback Escapes is not liable for delays, cancellations, or losses caused by factors beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, road closures, weather conditions, or government actions.

8.3 Any claims must be submitted in writing within 14 days of the tour conclusion.


9. Minimum Numbers

9.1 Minimum numbers vary depending on the tour. If minimum numbers are not reached, Australian Outback Escapes reserves the right to cancel the tour and provide a full refund or transfer option to another available date.


10. Force Majeure

10.1 In circumstances beyond our control, including extreme weather, pandemics, natural disasters, road closures or other unforeseen events, Australian Outback Escapes may cancel, modify or reschedule a tour. In such cases, we will work with affected guests to provide the most appropriate outcome, which may include a refund, credit, rescheduling option or alternative arrangements, less any non-recoverable costs.


11. Children

11.1 Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

11.2 Due to the nature of our small-group experiences, tours are generally designed for adults. Guests travelling with children should contact Australian Outback Escapes prior to booking to discuss suitability.


12. Accessibility

12.1 Our tours operate in remote Australian environments and accessibility can vary between locations. Our vehicles are not wheelchair accessible and some experiences may involve uneven terrain, walking on unsealed surfaces, steps, or limited access to facilities.

12.2 Guests with accessibility requirements, mobility considerations, or other concerns are encouraged to contact Australian Outback Escapes prior to booking so we can discuss suitability and available options.


13. Photography and Media

13.1 During your tour, Australian Outback Escapes may take photographs or video footage for promotional, marketing and social media purposes. If you do not wish to appear in any promotional material, please advise us at the time of booking or speak with your guide during the tour.

13.2 Guests are welcome to take photographs and videos during tours for personal use. We ask guests to respect the privacy of other passengers, guides, local communities and any cultural experiences by seeking permission before photographing individuals.


14. Itinerary Changes

14.1 Australian Outback Escapes reserves the right to alter itineraries, activities, accommodation or inclusions where necessary due to weather, road conditions, operational requirements, safety considerations, supplier availability or circumstances beyond our control.

14.2 Australian Outback Escapes will endeavour to provide an experience of equal value and quality.


15. Complaints

15.1 Any complaints should be raised immediately with your tour guide. If the issue remains unresolved, please submit your complaint in writing to info@australianoutbackescapes.com.au within 7 days of the tour’s conclusion.


16. Governing Law

16.1 These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of South Australia. Any disputes will be handled in the jurisdiction of South Australian courts.
