Almost everything is provided, including comfortable, premium swags for sleeping. However, you will need to bring your own sleeping bag and pillow. Keep in mind that nights in the outback during winter can be extremely cold, sometimes dropping below freezing. Therefore, it’s essential to have a sleeping bag with an appropriate temperature rating. Packing thermal undergarments and a beanie is also recommended to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep.
If you are unable to bring a sleeping bag, we can provide a brand-new one for an additional fee of $150. The sleeping bag will be yours to keep or donate to charity if you can’t take it with you.
Additionally, please bring hiking-appropriate footwear, a washable and reusable water bottle, and any personal items you may need, such as insect repellent, sunscreen, and medications.
The Australian Outback is a harsh environment where summer temperatures can soar to 50 degrees Celsius. Touring the outback in such extreme heat is not only uncomfortable for camping and hiking but can also be dangerous. For this reason, we only offer adventure tours to the outback during autumn, winter, and spring, when the region can be enjoyed to the fullest.
In contrast, the York and Eyre Peninsulas are South Australia’s summer playgrounds. While it still gets hot in summer, coastal temperatures rarely match the extremes of the outback. With pristine coastlines and incredible swimming beaches, there’s no better way to enjoy a hot day than by soaking up the sun and cooling off with a refreshing dip in the Southern Ocean.
All of our escapes are exclusive, with a limited capacity of up to 14 passengers, so be sure to book early to secure your spot!
